Error & Mistake
These words are have no special meanings in day to day life, But let me tell you an Experiment that changed my idea about all these words. "RUTHERFORD's GOLD FOIL" Experiment, I consider him as the best Scientist in the whole history rather than Einstein because of following reason.
First of all checkout this link if you have forgotten his Gold Foil Experiment. As you can see he derived the conclusion about the atom's internal structure from a reading that "only a small fraction (perhaps 1 in 20,000) of the alpha-particles were scattered through angles larger than 90." In his time this can be considered as a mistake or an error, because all 20,000 behaved in the same way as the current theories suggested and only 1 ray deviated from the result he expected. But he took the result of that 1 ray which got deflected and considered as the truth rather than a experimental error or mistake. Which proved to be a truth even today.
So what if every error we found in our school physics lab where actually not an error but a chance to prove that current physical law couldn't explain it because those laws weren't complete.??
NOTE: Dark energy plus dark matter constitute 95.1% of the total mass–energy content of the universe even though it has not been detected directly, making it one of the greatest mysteries in modern astrophysics. Strangely Dark matter neither emits nor absorbs light or any other electromagnetic radiation. Thus violating all physical laws and theories. That means we are still learning all laws that satisfies only 5% of whole universe energy.
